Methods to Install Led Strips

Four kinds of installation

1.Indoor installation: it is easy to install led strips which are used in indoor decoration, because it does not damaged by storm and wind. There is 3M double faced adhesive tape in the back of some rgb led strips, and it is easy for installation, because it can be fixed on the wall by double faced adhesive tape. And every 3 led lights can be cut off to put into use alone. 2.Outdoor installation: the strips in the outdoor may be damaged by storms, so it is fixed by waterproof glue and slot. 3.Power connection: in general, the voltage of led strips is 12v, so switching power supply is needed, and its size is decided by the power and length of led strips. 4.Controller connector: 5050 smd strip and RGB led strips should be controlled by controller to achieve the transition effects. However, every controller can control different distance, so if the connecting distance is long, while controller can’t control it, then power amplifier is needed to tap. 5.Pay attention to the connecting distance of led: in general, if the connecting distance is beyond led strips’ distance, led strip will easily produce heat which will affect its working life.

Eight reasons to explain led’s failure

1.Imperfection of led package damages the bulb during the transportation. 2.There is weak jointing in led strip, the vibration of transportation makes soldered dot fall down, and prevents the strips working. 3.Solder in small quantity makes soldered dot fall down. 4.Poor-quality soldering makes led strips easy to fall down and crack. 5.The installation angle is too big to separate soldered dot and copper foil. 6.Over extrusion of products during installation damage led strip chip. 7.Solder mask of circuit board is too thick, which prevents the mix of circuit board and soldering tin. 8.Led strips cannot be distorted in the process of installation.

Two kinds of driving power supply

Led strips have to work with driving power supply, led in different environments need different driving power supply. And it can be divided into two kinds. 1.According to the type of driving ,it can be divided into constant-current type and voltage regulator 2.According to the structure of circuit, it can be divided into electronic transformer, dropping resistor, conventional transformer, and RCC switch power supply. We should take care of the led strip in order to make them work more efficiently and better. At the same time, led industry will have a brighter future.
