Best Small Form-Factor PC Case?

Building an HTPC? Or maybe you just want to build a new system but you don't want it to take up a ton of space or look like a monolith under your desk? If that's the case, you might need a smaller form factor, perhaps something that's Mini-ITX or Micro-ATX, and a case to match. This week we want to hear about which of those smaller, more elegant Micro ATX Cases.

We recognize that not everyone wants a huge, full-sized tower, and when we last asked you for the best computer cases, the contenders were all towers with plenty of airflow, space to move around, expansion bays, and more. This week we want to take a different approach. We want to know which cases you think are the best for someone building an HTPC, a Hackintosh, or any workstation that doesn't have to be a huge high-end rig. Leave your nominations in the discussions below!

The call for contenders is closed! To see which of your nominees made it to the top five, head over to our Hive Five feature and cast your vote for the all-out winner!

Micro ATX Cases

Hive Five nominations take place in the discussions, where you post your favorite tool for the job. Please don't include your vote in a reply to another person. Nominations emailed to us will not be counted. Instead, make your vote and reply separate discussions. After you've made your nomination, let us know what makes it stand out from the competition.

Micro ATX Cases

MicroATX Cases

SilverStone's Sugo line started off as a series of stylish but compact microATX cases, with the first two models emulating the shoebox design popularized by Shuttle before moving onto more traditional towers with the third and fourth variants. The SG05 and SG06 went back to the shoebox style, leveraging the growing popularity of the mini-ITX form factor. Up to this point they were all conservatively designed, particularly with regard to cooling. The superb SG07/SG08 took their game to another level, high-end models that offered enthusiast class features in a much sleeker package than clunky towers. The keys to success were a full-sized ATX power supply embedded at the front of the case, a giant fan blowing down from the top, enough room for a reasonably good CPU cooler, and support for long dual slot graphics card. The SG09 follows in this mold, attempting to recreate the same magic with the large Micro ATX Cases form factor.
